Linda Wilhelm Obituary

Linda H. Wilhelm
January 10, 1948 - July 21, 2019

Linda Hope Wilhelm, 71, of Deshler, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at 5:29 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, Ohio.  She was joined in heaven by her daughter, Heidi who passed away shortly after her at 7:55 p.m.
She was born January 10, 1948 in Deshler, Ohio to the late Lawrence "Moon" and Kathryn (Lulfs) Diem.  On October 15, 1966 she married William "Bill" Wilhelm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler.
Linda was a 1966 graduate of Deshler High School.  She had previously worked at the former Deshler Telephone Company, Sherwin-Williams/Deshler Products, Metal Forge, Deshler and Piece Goods, Bowling Green, Ohio.  Her favorite job was opening her home to baby-sit for children in the community.  She spent years caring for children, whether they were family members, neighbors or friends.  Over the years, she was a member of both St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler.
Linda enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers and the bird watching that they provided.  She had an extensive collection of the Lemax Porcelain Christmas Village, which she shared for many years at Open Houses.  She was currently creating her own greeting cards, selling and offering them as "Hope's Creations".  She enjoyed traveling over the years, when it was camping at Lazy River Campground in Pioneer, Ohio to Mesa, Arizona in the winter months or just a trip to Holmes County to visit the Amish Country.
Most of all, Linda loved her family.  She shared over 52 years with her husband, Bill and treasured her children and especially her 5 adored grandsons.
She is survived by her husband Bill; daughter, Holly (Greg) Smith, Florence, Kentucky; son, Ryan (Rebecca) Wilhelm, Deshler; 5 grandsons, Austin, Dylan and Griffin Smith and Wyatt and Cooper Wilhelm; 3 brothers, Ronald (Pok Sun "Lee") Diem, Deshler; Dennis (Kathryn) Diem, Deshler; Roger Diem, Deshler and several loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Wink and brother, Richard Diem.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held alongside her daughter, Heidi at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar, Ohio with Fr. Walter Tuscano officiating.  They will be buried next to each other at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the Maurer Family Cancer Care Center.
