Robert R. Van Scoyoc
March 7, 1928 - January 8, 2020

   Robert Rae Van Scoyoc, 91, of Deshler, Ohio passed away Wednesday morning, January 8, 2020 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, Ohio.
   He was born on March 7, 1928 in Bartlow Township, Henry County to the late Charles and Myrtle (Brown) Van Scoyoc.  On June 5, 1948 he married Lucille Stateler in Shawtown, Ohio and they have shared over 71 years together.
   Bob was a lifetime farmer and took great pride in his work in the fields as well as his home.  Everything was well maintained and kept in good order.  He was licensed pilot and enjoyed many years flying planes he would either build himself or purchase.
   He was lifetime member of Oakdale United Methodist Church and remained very active and faithful.  He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the Henry County Farm Bureau and former president and member of the Board of Directors of the Deshler Farmers Elevator.
   Bob was very much a gentleman and had a generous, kind heart and personality.  He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille; children, John (Connie) Van Scoyoc, Leipsic, Ohio; William "Bill" Van Scoyoc, Deshler; Charlene Rettig, Findlay, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Terry (Donna) Van Scoyoc; Stephen Van Scoyoc; Jennifer (Chad) Whitmore; Jeremiah Van Scoyoc; Aubrey Rettig; Briana (Brian) Sherick; and many great grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by brother, Howard Van Scoyoc; sisters, Ruth Brentlinger; Jean Stateler and 2 grandchildren, Matthew Rettig and Jeffrey Van Scoyoc.
   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor Christopher Walter officiating.  Burial will follow in McComb Union Cemetery, McComb.
   Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
   The family suggests memorials to Oakdale UMC or Deshler Edwin Wood Memorial Library.
