Aaron Stevens Obituary

Aaron G. Stevens

June 26, 1948 - October 31, 2025

Aaron George Stevens, 77, of Deshler, Ohio passed away Friday morning, October 31, 2025 at his home.

He was born June 26, 1948 in Mt. Holly, New Jersey, the son of Harry and Adele (Willingmyre) Stevens. He graduated from Portville Central High School, Portville, NJ in 1966 and in 1968 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Aaron proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and this service instilled in him a lifetime of patriotism and honor. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and he continued to give back by volunteering and serving his fellow veterans. He was a member of Deshler American Legion Post #316; VFW Post #3360, Defiance; AMVETS 199, Defiance; Combat Vets Association; Henry County DAV; Vietnam Veterans of America, Defiance. He was also a past board member of the Henry County Veterans Commission and was instrumental in bringing the traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial to Henry County.

After he was discharged in 1970 he came to Northwest Ohio with a fellow veteran and he had a chance meeting with a young lady named Kathy Walker at a wedding. This encounter was "meant to be" and on September 8, 1973 they were married in Napoleon, Ohio. Aaron and Kathy settled in Deshler, Ohio. Aaron drove truck for the former IMCO Poultry, worked for Stout Construction building grain elevators; helped build tanks at the General Dynamics Tank Plant in Lima and finally retired in 2010 from Tenneco Automotive, Napoleon, Ohio.

Aaron is survived by his wife, Kathy; two children, Craig (Heidi) Stevens; Sandra (Craig) Bilbrey; and several in-laws of the Walker family. He will be missed by many friends and neighbors and fellow community members who his life touched including his "honorary grandkids", Adyson; Prestyn; Aiden and Brock.
