Brandon Johnson Obituary

Brandon R. Johnson

March 28, 1980 – December 5, 2024

Brandon Robert Johnson, 44, of Deshler, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from an automobile accident.

He was born March 28, 1980, in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Rebecca (Pawlinski) Johnson.  Brandon grew up in the Swanton area and was a 1998 graduate of Swanton High School.  From a young age he had an entrepreneurial spirit. For example, in elementary school he bought penny gum to sell for a profit.  He was motivated to work for bigger things and make things better for himself and those closest to him.  After high school, he attended Owens Community College and received an Associate’s Degree in Business. Brandon started his own family business, Team Johnson, at the young age of 18.  His business shifted from semi-trucks and dump trucks, to limousines, party buses and charter buses.  He was always thinking and dreaming of the next best thing.  Throughout it all, he kept his family close and worked alongside his parents and sisters.

Brandon’s networking was non-stop.  He was constantly in motion, and his feet were never standing still.  Being involved in his community was important to him, and he shared his talents with anyone in need.  Most importantly, he shared them with those less fortunate.  He especially loved to spread Christmas cheer each December.  For the past 8 years, he organized gift-giving for children at the Family House Shelter, and each year he would choose families in need to receive a Christmas miracle.  His kindness and selflessness touched many lives.

When he was not hustling at work or doing more for others, Brandon never forgot his family.  He was a son who was proud to be a Mama’s Boy and a brother who always loved and looked out for his sisters.  He met the love of his life, Stefanie (Tussing), and they married on January 19, 2010.  He showed his love for her often, never forgetting special days, anniversaries and birthdays.  He would always make sure she knew just how lucky he felt to have her.  Together they have 4 children, and their kids had the absolute coolest dad.  Brandon was constantly brainstorming ways to make every adventure possible.  He always had his itinerary planned to make the kids’ events, cheer them on and include everyone he could in the fun.  Brandon would always share how proud he was of his children’s accomplishments, no matter how big or small.  He was a friend to everyone, and his inclusion was unlimited.  He always believed the more the merrier.  He was there to make you laugh, put a smile on your face and tell the best (slightly exaggerated) stories.  This larger-than-life man enjoyed countless trips, elaborate cruises and any sort of travel that was never just a vacation.  All his actions had meaning behind them.  He wanted everyone to enjoy life the way he did by living for today, not tomorrow.  There truly will never be enough words to do justice to the person Brandon was.

Brandon is survived by his wife, Stefanie; his four children, Landon Johnson; Whitney Johnson; Maddox Johnson; Peyton Johnson; his mother, Rebecca Johnson; sisters, Bobby Jo (Walter) Raftery; Brittany (Eric ) Stevens; sisters-in-law, LeAnne (Kyle) Markins; Jacqueline Tussing (Bryan Minges); nieces and nephews, Meghan Raftery; Colin Raftery; Saylor Stevens; Savannah Markins; Alexandra Markins; Broderick Markins; William Minges, Nicolas Minges and a host of family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Johnson; uncle, Donnie Hazlett; grandfather, Edward Pawlinski; and in-laws, Gar and Nancy Tussing.
