Connie S. Hoops
December 24, 1947 - October 5, 2025
Connie Sue Hoops, 77, of Leipsic, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Meadows of Leipsic, Ohio.
Connie was born in Findlay, Ohio on Christmas Eve of 1947 to the late John and Nellie (Burwell) Rayle. She was raised in a family of 12 children and she was a 1965 graduate of Leipsic High School.
On May 8, 1966 she married Lester Hoops at St. John's Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2004. Late in Lester's life, Connie was devoted to her husband and providing care as he battled cancer for years.
Connie worked at the former Metal Forge factory of Deshler and also at Consolidated Biscuit/Cookie Factory in McComb, Ohio. Her favorite things to do were crafts and painting. Her creations have blessed all her family and friends. At home, she cared for her gardens, whether it was planting flowers for decoration or tending to her vegetables for harvesting. When grandchildren came along, she loved to spoil them and treat them to baked goods that she took time to prepare with their assistance. She had a good sense of humor and liked to joke around; she tried to travel many places and always found time to watch game shows. She will be cherished and missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by three children, Linda Hoops; Ryan Hoops; Daniel (Rondel) Hoops; five grandchildren, Tyler Hoops; Richard (Ashleigh) Hoops; Taylor Hoops(Austin Hord); Shelby (Jacob) Williams; Britain (Amber) Leone; 10 great grandchildren, Callie; Cameron; Caison; Liam; Asher; Peyton; Bennett; Kailyn; Dominic; Desiree; brother, William Rayle and sisters, Emma Jean Hoops; Judith Hoops and Brenda Smith.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Hoops, sisters, Mary Louise Rayle; Carol Joyce Requena and brothers, Eugene Rayle; Owen "Bob" Rayle; Ralph Rayle; Sidney Rayle and Archie Rayle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 2-6 p.m. at the Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler. A funeral service will start at 6 p.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Betts officiating. Connie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
