David Arthur Rutter
January 13, 1938 - September 12, 2021
David A. Rutter went to be with our Lord on September 12th, 2021. He passed peacefully surrounded by family at Bridge Hospice, Findlay Care Center. Dave was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Dave was born on January 13, 1938 to Clifford E. and Bertha (McMaster) Rutter. He graduated from Deshler High School in 1956 and joined the army the following October, serving in Korea. Dave married Ann (Lee) Rutter on December 26, 1956 and they built a loving family during their 64 years together.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Ann (Lee) Rutter; their two children, Sheree Hemminger and John D. Rutter; two grandchildren, Melissa Viers and David Armes; a great grandson, Zachary Girdler; and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Rutter and Leonard Rutter.
Dave retired from Sherwin Williams (Deshler) after 37 years in the Engineering Dept. He was an active member of Oakdale United Methodist Church (Deshler) where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School, serving on committees and visiting shut-ins.
Dave was gifted with the ability to build homes for his family and enjoyed working in his woodshop building furniture and creating projects he shared with others. He also enjoyed working in his woods and taking trips to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to see the Fall foliage.
Due to COVID, the Memorial Service will be private with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Deshler.
