Dennis C. Bremer
August 6, 1949 - February 19, 2020
Dennis Charles Bremer, 70, of Deshler, Ohio passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 19, 2020, joining his wife, Jo in Heaven who passed on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
He was born August 6, 1949 in Findlay, Ohio to Louis and Joyce (Tussing) Bremer.
Denny was a Deshler High School graduate. While in school, he would frequent the Deshler Swimming Pool due to his attraction to a certain lifeguard. Here he would meet Joanne Wade and they would begin a relationship that would last a lifetime. On August 29, 1969 he married Joanne and they became inseparable. Joanne passed away on February 13, 2020 and he has been welcoming their reunion ever since.
Dennis furthered his education at Findlay College and would graduate with a degree in business, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He would return home to Deshler and become the 2nd Generation of The Deshler Lumber Company. Working alongside his father, he would design and build countless homes in the area. He was a gifted craftsman and skilled with pencil and paper. After the closing of the company, he would work at Carter Lumber in Bowling Green and Rausch Lumber in Napoleon.
In Deshler, his social circle was very important to him and he was very active in his community. He would serve on the Deshler Village Council from 1988-1999. Denny then would be elected to Deshler Board of Public Affairs in January of 2000 and was currently still serving on the Board. He was a member and past president of both the Deshler Chamber of Commerce and the Deshler Lions Club. His community was important to him and he wanted to contribute to its success. He gave his time and talents and along the way he remembers the many friends he made and the BBQ chicken dinners. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler and served on church council.
Denny's family was very important to him. He always respected his parents and relished in being a big brother. He never hesitated to mention how proud he was of his younger sisters. He could often be found lending a hand or carrying around a pencil and paper to sketch or design. He always remained an eternal optimist and had a sharp sense of humor, ready to keep a conversation light with a friendly joke or wisecrack.
Denny and Jo enjoyed many years traveling together and taking vacations. They were both fans of hockey and enjoyed many trips to Columbus for Blue Jacket games. They even became season ticket holders and met many new friends through their love of hockey. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicki (Brian) Strunk, Findlay; Chris Bremer, Findlay; grandsons, Sawyer and Sean Strunk; father, Louis Bremer, Saline, Michigan; sisters, Cathy Van Scoyoc (Gary Townsend), Bowling Green and Joan (David) Hendricks, Saline, Michigan.
