Donald Tackett Obituary

Donald Tackett
May 19, 1943 - November 18, 2021

Donald Tackett, 78, of rural Deshler, Ohio passed away Thursday evening, November 18, 2021 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, Ohio.
He was born May 19, 1943 in Ada, Ohio to the late Tollie and Nancy (England) Tackett.  On October 12, 1968 he married Janet Beam at Oakdale United Methodist Church, Deshler and they have shared over 53 years together.
Don retired from Consolidated Biscuit, McComb, Ohio as a line mechanic after 27 years.  He had also previously worked at Superior Coach, Lima for 17 years before it closed.
He was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church, Deshler where he had previously been a trustee, usher and Sunday School Superintendent.  In his spare time, Don enjoyed driving and listening to country music, specifically Alan Jackson and Willie's Roadhouse on the radio.  Along with his wife, they enjoyed many travels to the Renfro Valley in Kentucky and trips out west to Salt Lake City to visit his sons.  When at home, he found time to refinish old furniture and cheer on the success of Ohio State Buckeyes football on Saturday, just to dampen his mood on Sundays watching the Minnesota Vikings.  He was always up to spending time with his family, especially watching the grandkids and having them stay at the house.
A loving husband, father and grandfather; his family will remember his quiet and caring nature.  They knew when he spoke, they needed to listen.  He will be missed and cherished by them all.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; 6 children; Scott (Estelle) Tackett; Tim Byars Tackett; Rob Tackett; Donald Eric Tackett; Jane Tackett; Ryan (Stacie) Tackett; 11 grandchildren, Isaiah Tackett; Cortney Byars; Aaron Byars; Katelyn Fairbanks; Jake Tackett; Kayla (Doug) Tussing; Garret Tackett; Autumn Rose Carney; Tyler Tackett; Darin Tackett; Emily Tackett; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; and brothers, Robert Tackett Paul (Jean) Tackett.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ashley; and siblings, Myrtle Miller; Inez Bestman; Nellie Miller; Goldie Vogelsong; Tony "Buck" Tackett; Connie Combs; David Tackett and Melvin "Buster" Tackett.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor James Erven officiating.  Burial will follow in West Belmore Cemetery, Belmore, Ohio and a luncheon will follow at Oakdale United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m - 3 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
