Dorothy L. Spangler
January 22, 1920 – April 19, 2020
Dorothy Louise Spangler, 100 years old, of rural Deshler, Ohio passed away Sunday evening, April 19, 2020 at The Meadows of Leipsic, Leipsic, Ohio.
She was born in Fairfield County, Ohio on January 22, 1920 to the late Grover C. and Clara (Ditman) Spangler.
Dorothy was an exceptional woman around a farm, her home or any restaurant and kitchen. For several years she was known for her pies and she baked them regularly for the former Rader’s Restaurant in Deshler. She would also waitress and cook for them as well. When she wasn’t uptown at Rader’s, she was providing extra care to households with new mothers. She was a great neighbor and a caring woman to those who knew her.
She is survived by a son, Leslie of Deshler; sister, Velma Dorman, Tuscon, Arizona; sister-in-law, Mary Spangler, Deshler and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Evelyn and brothers, Stanley, Paul, Melvin, Richard and Eldon
Per her wishes and beliefs as a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness, Dorothy will have private services.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, Ohio.
