Franklin A. Bremer
September 17, 1951 - March 6, 2023
Franklin August Bremer, 71, of Malinta, Ohio passed away Monday night, March 6, 2023 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was born September 17, 1951 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late Alfred "Slim" and Evelyn (George) Bremer. On November 22, 1974 he married Marilyn (Shufelt) Bremer at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Deshler.
Frank was a 1969 graduate of Deshler High School and he worked for over 40 years as a machinist at Gilson Screen, Malinta, Ohio. He retired in 2015. He was a lifetime member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Perhaps one of Frank's greatest pastimes was being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and absolutely loved to fish. He shared this passion for fishing with his grandchildren, planning many fishing trips and taking time during family vacations to find the nearest spot to cast a line.
He was a member of the Maumee Valley Sportsman Club, Malinta and the NRA. Frank was a very skilled marksman and had lots of knowledge about rifles and pistols He participated in the Toledo Area High Power Rifle League and other various competitive leagues over the years.
His family will always remember him for his dry sense of humor, but more importantly for being a great role model as a loving and devoted husband, supportive father and adoring grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; children, Brooke (David) Amspoker; Christopher (Angela) Bremer; grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth and Thomas Amspoker; step grandchildren, Bailey (Ian) Bomer, Reid and Rylen Stoner and step great grandchildren, Murphee and Nash; brother, Raymond Bremer and sister, Judith (Mike) Benner.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Bremer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Deshler with Rev. Kurtis Freimuth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery and a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 10-11 a.m., Friday at the church.
