Hilon “Hi” Hollister, Jr., age 83, was peacefully called home on October 24, 2025, after courageously facing a ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born on May 14, 1942, in California to Hilon Sr. and Romayne “Ro” (Brocbrader) Hollister, Hi was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1943 and confirmed in 1956. He graduated from Wauseon High School in 1960.
On April 10, 1981, Hi married the love of his life, Brenda (Homan), on the beach in Jamaica. Together, they shared 44 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Hi had a lifelong love for travel, making memorable trips to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, bike meets in Milwaukee and Laughlin, and road trips across Arizona, Oklahoma, and California. He and Brenda also enjoyed camping, including twice-yearly trips to the infield of the Michigan International Speedway to watch NASCAR.
Throughout his life, he worked hard and took pride in all that he did. In his younger years, he delivered newspapers, worked as a pinsetter at the local bowling alley, and was employed at Hilltop and Chevy. He spent the last 35 years of his career with German Village Products, retiring in 2006.
Hi is survived by his loving wife Brenda, son Hilon III (Kathy) Hollister, daughter Jada (Edwin) Rodriguez, and grandchildren Michael, Jamie, Emmerie, and Elijah. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Wendy Hollister, brother-in-law Gene (Nancy) Homan, sister-in-law Nancy (Keith) Buehrer, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
