Imogene A. Lewis
September 6, 1929 - July 21, 2023
Imogene Ann Lewis, 93 of Deshler, Ohio passed away Friday morning, July 21, 2023 at Fox Run Manor, Findlay, Ohio.
She was born on September 6, 1929 in rural Deshler, Bartlow Township, Ohio to the late Cecil and Ethel (Shank) Rayle. On December 4, 1949 she married Earl Lewis at Deshler United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death in October 1996.
Imogene was a 1947 graduate of Deshler High School. Together with her husband, Earl, they raised their family on the family farm just outside Deshler. She was a devoted homemaker and assisted on the farm in all the daily duties. She was a faithful member of the Deshler United Methodist Church. Here she was very active in the choir, the Women's Group, a lay speaker, Sunday School teacher and she led the Junior Sermons. Imogene always had a very artistic side to her and this led to her being the co-president and contributing member to the Deshler Art League. Her family and many friends will remember her many works on display about town and at many art shows. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader, den mother for Cub Scouts and member of the Deshler Camera Club.
She is survived by her three children, Gail Margush; Ralph Lewis and David (Winifred) Lewis; 8 grandchildren, Matthias, J. Renee, Anna, Stephanie, Sarah, David, Kayla, Jonathan and 14 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Nathan and Joshua; great granddaughter, Sophie Mae; sisters, Helen Lutz and Norma Louise Rayle and three brothers, Floyd; Cloyd and Glen Rayle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28th at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, Deshler with Pastor Chris Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, July 27th at the Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the Gideons International, New Beginnings United Methodist Church or the donor's choice.
