James L. Gustwiller
December 21, 1944 - July 30, 2018
James Lee Gustwiller, 73, of Findlay, Ohio passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at Stein Hospice Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born December 21, 1944 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late LeRoy and Viola (Dunzer) Gustwiller. Growing up in rural McClure, Ohio; James attended St. Patrick Catholic Church, Grand Rapids and he graduated in 1962 from McClure High School. James enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962 and served his country during the Vietnam War.
Upon his discharge in 1966, he returned home and married Marlene Wilhelm of Custar on October 19, 1968 at St. Louis Catholic Church and they lived in Findlay, Ohio. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2015.
James worked for over 31 years at RCA/GE/Harris of Findlay, Ohio and then over 10 years for Hancock County in the IT Department. He was a member of St. Michael's Parish, Findlay, Ohio and a lifetime member of Ralph D. Cole American Legion Post #3, Findlay, Ohio. His spare time was spent doing yard work, computers and spending extra time with family.
He is survived by his two sons, Marc Gustwiller, Cincinnati, Ohio; Jason (Sarah) Gustwiller, Lisbon, Ohio; brother, Richard "Rick" Gustwiller, Norfolk, Virginia; three sisters, Matilda Arlene (Guy) Johnson, Marblehead, Ohio; Helen (Ken) Emery, Norfolk, Virginia; Margaret "Peg" (Mike) Dubberly, Savannah, Georgia and 8 nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Gustwiller and nephew, Kenneth Emery.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Custar, Ohio with Fr. Walter Tuscano officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, August 6th at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9-10 a.m., Tuesday prior to the mass at church.
Memorials may be given to the Donor's Choice.
