Janis "Jan" Boulis

   Janis Marie "Jan" Boulis, 88, of Deshler, Ohio passed away Tuesday evening, September 2, 2025 at her residence with her children by her side.
   She was born on March 31, 1937 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Eugene and Ruth (Hummer) Goller.  She was raised in a catholic home and for many years attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler.  
   Jan was a 1955 graduate of Deshler High School where she participated in the band and cheerleading.  Throughout her youth, she worked for her parents at the former Star Theater on Main Street in Deshler.  
   On November 9, 1957 she married Bernard "Barney" Boulis and they shared over 58 years together before he preceded her in death on March 31, 2016.
   After having her children, she went to work at the Deshler Library.  Jan and Barney helped organize the Corn City Community Band where they remained active for many years.  He played the tuba and she the saxophone.  Together, they organized all the music and Jan took special joy in organizing all the parties.  Her family remembers her planning for all things and she excelled in the role as hostess.  Around the house she enjoyed gardening and canning her harvests.  In retirement, Jan and Barney took time to travel in their car across the country.  In her later years, Jan went with her children on cruises and vacations.  While at home, she enjoyed quiet reflection and the beauty of sunsets from her back porch.  She was a loving daughter who cared for her parents, a devoted wife, caring mother and adoring grandmother and great grandmother.
   She is survived by four children, Connie (Brad) Bailey; Kathy (Rick) Sutton; Carrie Schilling; Jack (Angel) Boulis; 9 grandchildren, Robert (Heather) Bailey; Sarah (Becky) Bailey; Claire (Roger) Dixon; Amy Busch (David Rader); Thomas (Sarah) Busch; Brittany (Chase) Brown; Ryan (Rachael) Schilling; Joshua Boulis; Grace Boulis; 5 great grandchildren, James Dixon; William Dixon; Fiona Busch; Arlo Busch; Lukas Schillng; brother, James (Marjorie) Goller and sister, Elizabeth Schaublin.
   Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor James Creager officiating.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler and a luncheon will follow.
   Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the funeral home.
   In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family encourages memorial donations to the Friends of the Deshler Library or Bridge Hospice.
