Jennie Lee "Susie" Burkey
December 2, 1941 - April 5, 2026

  Jennie Lee “Susie” Burkey, age 84, of Deshler, Ohio was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Sunday April 5, 2026 surrounded by her beloved family.
  She was born on December 2, 1941 in rural Bartlow Township to Ollie and Jennie Belle Ruskey.
  She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, James, whom she married on July 18, 1964. Together, they shared 62 years of wedded bliss where they very rarely spent a day apart.
  Susie was the heart of her family- a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and a selfless servant of our Lord. She is known for her kind and generous heart and making sure no one ever left her home hungry. Susie taught us to be patient, how to be kind, and the importance of smiling and laughter.
  During her many beautiful years she enjoyed traveling the country on bus trips with her husband and friends, reading books on the front porch, supporting her grandchildren in all that they did, and feeding her grandpup, Ralphie endless treats.
  She is also survived by her two boys Scott (Deb) Burkey and Bradley (Kristen) Burkey; her grandchildren who were her world, Kendyl (Triston) Novak, Emma (Jacob) Seele, Garrett and Regan Burkey, and Grandpup Ralphie. She was the fourth child of eight and is survived by her siblings, Joe Ruskey, Nedra (Dave) Bartley, Steve (Sandy) Ruskey; sisters-in-law, Diana Ruskey, Lynnette (Karl) Miller and many nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Nagel and Norma Vogel and her brothers Dick Ruskey and David "Ollie" Ruskey.
  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Oakdale Church, Deshler with Pastor Doug Kendrick officiating.  Graveside services will be in Woodlawn Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at the church.
  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 10-11 a.m., Friday at the church.

  The family would like to graciously thank Elara Caring Hospice and The Meadows of Leipsic for their kindness, care, and support they provided to Susie and the family over the last few months.
