Joanne Rader
July 18, 1932 - May 1, 2026
Joanne Rader, 93, formerly of rural Leipsic, passed away Friday morning, May 1, 2026 at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore, Ohio.
She was born in McComb, Ohio on July 18, 1932 to the late Harry and Audrey Mae (Carder) Spitsnaugle. She was a 1950 graduate of McComb High School. Joanne was raised in the former Belmore EUB Church where she played the organ for services.
On August 3, 1952 she married John Paul Rader in the Belmore Church. They shared over 68 years together and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2021.
Upon the closure of the church, Joanne and John became faithful members of Oakdale Church where she was active with the women of the church. Together they lived a loving farm life. Joanne was a supportive wife and was always there to drive a tractor or haul the grain to the elevator. At home, she was always providing home cooked meals, baking cookies and pies, canning her vegetables or making homemade noodles. Her love and devotion to her family was cherished by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joanne is survived by her children, Roger (Jodi) Rader, Leipsic; Marsha (Barry) Mort, Van Buren, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Rachel (Kip) Studer; Jamie (Aubrey) Rader; Jared (Tonee) Rader; Andrew (Nikki) Mort; Allison (Andy) Groman and 16 adored great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nola Mae Todd and brother, John Spitsnaugle.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Rev. Doug Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in McComb Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Oakdale Church.
