John P. Fackler
January 19, 1951 - August 19, 2023
John Philip Fackler, 72, of Deshler, Ohio passed away on Saturday night, August 19, 2023 at his residence.
He was born on January 19, 1951 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Cleal and Frances (Brown) Fackler. On October 2, 1999 he married Consuelo "Connie" (Cortez) Fackler and she survives.
John worked at the former Metal Forge Company in Deshler, Ohio for over 26 years. He retired as a supervisor in 1997.
Aside from his love and care for his family, John's greatest pastime was fishing. He spent a lot of time on Lake Erie and Indian Lake passing the time with family and friends with a reel in his hands. The outdoors provided him with joy and he was also an avid hunter.
He was a skilled pool player. He participated in the Maumee Valley Pool League and was a 6 skill level billiards player. He won many tournaments and even qualified for large tournaments that included fun filled trips to Las Vegas. When not controlling his own outcomes, he wasn't afraid to play the game of chance. He loved to go to casinos and play bingo. Firekeepers in Battle Creek, Michigan and Hollywood Casino in Toledo were frequent stops. So when he didn't have anything at stake, John cheered for the Cleveland Brown, The Ohio State Buckeyes and Nascar's #2, the former Rusty Wallace and current Brad Keselowski racing teams. Here he could just sit back, relax and enjoy the games.
His family and friends will forever remember him as a friendly, easy to talk to type of guy who certainly wasn't afraid to be ornery or make others laugh. He will be cherished as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; children, Ann (John) Baney; Tony (Jessica) Fackler; step son, Eric (April) DeLaCerda; 11 grandchildren, Erica (Ruben) Vela; Jesse Miranda, Jr.; Jaylen Martin; Justice Martin; J.D. Martin; Justis DeLaCerda; Austin DeLaCerda; Angelina Davis; Logan Sterling; Tanner DeLaCerda; Kaylee Sterling; Trever DeLaCerda; 4 great grandchildren, Merekh Baney; Keshon Miles; Addison DeLaCerda; Lucas Sterling; his beloved grand-dog, JoJo; brother, Henry "Hank" (Samantha) Fackler; sister, Cindy (Kenneth) Isom and in-laws, Debra Fackler; Carol Brown; Rhonda Fackler and Mary Stretchbery.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Charles Bennett, Jr.; brothers, Robert "Bo" Fackler, Gary Brown; Bill Fackler and sister, E. Deanna (Leimgruber) Ackerman.
