John A. VanScoyoc
November 3, 1949 - May 20, 2020

   John Allen VanScoyoc, 70, of Leipsic, Ohio and formerly of Graham, Washington passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, Ohio.
   He was born November 3, 1949 in Findlay, Ohio to Robert and Lucille (Stateler) VanScoyoc.  He was married to Sandra (Jameson) VanScoyoc for over 30 years and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2018.  On November 5, 2019 he married Connie (Rayle) Hoops and she survives
   John graduated from Deshler High School and then was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969 during the Vietnam War.  He would continue to serve his country for 17 years and was honorably discharged in 1986.  He would then work as a letter carrier with the U.S. Post Office in Graham and Puyallup, Washington.  
   He was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church, Deshler and the American Legion.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking with his scroll saw.
   He is survived by his wife, Connie Hoops-VanScoyoc; his mother, Lucille VanScoyoc; children, Laurie Estes, Tacoma, Washington; Terry (Donna) VanScoyoc, Tacoma, Washington; John (Lisa) VanScoyoc, Graham, Washington; Stephen (Theresa) VanScoyoc, Clarksville, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Charlene Rettig, Findlay, Ohio; and his wife Connie's children; Linda Hoops, McComb, Ohio; Ryan Hoops, Pedro, Ohio and Dan (Rondel) Hoops, Sycamore, Ohio.
   He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffery VanScoyoc; father, Robert VanScoyoc; and brother, William "Bill" VanScoyoc.
   Per John's wishes there will be no public services and he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Sandra at the Tacoma National Cemetery. 
   Memorials are suggested to Oakdale United Methodist Church or the Deshler American Legion Post #316.
