Jonah L. Rader
May 30, 1998 – May 4, 2023
Jonah Louis Rader, 24, of Deshler, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Promedica Toledo Hospital.
He was born on May 30, 1998 in Findlay, Ohio, the youngest child to Rodney and Christine (Lammers) Rader.
Jonah was a 2017 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. During his high school years he was active in choir, FFA and the annual talent shows. He was always a hard worker and willing to lend a hand. He worked at Ron’s SuperValu during his school days and for the last 5 years he was a front-end worker at the Kroger Store in Bowling Green, Ohio. Jonah’s neighbors and friends could always call on him for house-sitting and dog watching. His genuine kindness and care for others was always evident when you where in Jonah’s presence.
He was a lifetime member of McComb Church of Christ. Jonah was a car enthusiast and he loved General Motors and Cadillacs. He enjoyed listening to music and his favorite artists were Randy Travis, Mike Manuel and the late local John Sager. His favorite team was the Michigan Wolverines; he had a special connection to the care he was given at the University’s hospital over the years.
Family was so important to Jonah and they will remember him for being selfless and putting those he loved first. He was happiest in his role as Uncle Jonah, even to the point of considering buying a bigger vehicle so he had room for his niece and nephews. He was a beloved brother and he considered his siblings his best friends.
He is survived by his parents, Rodney and Christine Rader; siblings, Grace Rader (Logan Norden); Hope (Chase) Wright; Dillon Rader; twin sister, Faith (Reed) Hovest; niece, Maren Wright; nephews, Henry Hovest; Stetson Hovest and Carl Wright; maternal grandparents, Don and Sharon Lammers; paternal grandparents, Sue & Rich Souvenier.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gene Rader.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10 at McComb Church of Christ. Graveside services will follow at West Belmore Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday prior to the services at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the The Children's Heart Foundation or given in memory of Uncle Jonah, to directly benefit his niece and nephews futures. Checks may be made payable to Rodney and Christine Rader.
Jonah would be proud that he gave the gift of life through tissue donation with Community Tissue Services. Jonah was an extraordinary person transforming “the gift” to save and enhance lives.
