K9 ZEUS
On April 16, 2020, K9 Officer Zeus, passed in the arms of his family. Zeus was a 6 year old German Shepherd, born on August 18, 2013 in the Czech Republic.
He was brought to the United States in 2015, where Chief Brian Robinson and K9 Officer Zeus began their journey together. Chief Robinson and K9 Officer Zeus would graduate and hit the streets on November 25, 2015.
Zeus helped take drugs off the streets, tracked suspects and protected the residents of Deshler. Zeus loved going to the school to walk around at football and basketball games. He loved playing ball, tug and wrestling with his family at home.
Zeus battled health issues early in 2020. Zeus was first set back by fluid around his heart which put him into heart failure. He then had a prolonged seizure which caused extreme neurological damage. Zeus fought to recover and come home. However, on April 16, 2020, Zeus would succumb to liver failure.
A memorial will be planned and announced at a later date. All donations in his memory can be made to the Village of Deshler/K9. These donations will be used for Zeus Memorial and or a future K9 unit for the Deshler Police Department.
Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler is assisting with his final services.
