Kirk Alan Schwiebert
November 26, 1969-July 15, 2023
Kirk Alan Schwiebert, 53, of Malinta, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, July 15, 2023, at his residence, after a sudden onset of pancreatic cancer.
He was born on November 26, 1969, the son of the late Juleen Tietje and Dennis (Jackie) Schwiebert. On May 7, 1994, he married Lori (Fackler) Schwiebert in Hamler, Ohio and they shared over 34 years together with 29 of those in marriage.
Kirk was a Mechanical/Service Engineer for Automatic Feed Company for over 30 years and was a vital part of the engineering department with his vast knowledge of the company’s projects. He was the secretary for the Monroe Township Board of Appeals. Kirk also volunteered his time for the Patrick Henry Schools Archery Club by developing a scoring program that he used each year for the annual tournament. He was a past volunteer fireman for the Hamler Fire Department and could be found helping wherever he was needed.
When he wasn’t working, Kirk could be found restoring antique cars and tractors, working around the house, and traveling. Kirk and Lori were enthusiastic travelers, taking several cruises, traveling to Florida, and celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Australia. They enjoyed visiting antique stores and finding treasures. He was an avid fisherman who looked forward to walleye season on the Maumee River each year and fishing at the Maumee Valley Sportman’s Club. He spent many years bowling in leagues at the establishments in Deshler and Napoleon.
Over the years, Kirk enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at gatherings, making memories, especially during the family’s annual OSU/MI football party. He was a proud father who looked forward to watching his children during their various activities when they were in school and loved listening to the stories about their adventures into adulthood.
He is survived by his wife, Lori; two children, Taylor, Lewis Center, and Camden, Ypsilanti, Michigan; brother, Erik Schwiebert, Deshler; and father and step-mother, Dennis and Jackie Schwiebert, along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juleen Tietje, grandparents, Melvin and Madonna Tietje and Arnold and Doris Schwiebert.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 19 at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler with Pastor Barb Gibson officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service and graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Grelton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Tuesday, July 18 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 10-11 am, Wednesday at the church.
