Kristine Smith Obituary

Kristine Sue Smith
March 16, 1969 – September 15, 2022

Kristine “Krissy” Sue Smith, 53, of Deshler, Ohio passed away on Thursday morning, September 15, 2022 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, Ohio.

She was born on March 16, 1969 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Robert Thomas and Sharon Sue (McMaster) Smith.

Krissy was a 1987 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and attended the 4-County Vocational School.  She was raised and baptized at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler.

She worked for over 20 years at Consolidated Biscuit, McComb, Ohio and also at the former Oak Grove Healthcare Center.  She even spent a few years offering childcare and babysitting for friends and family.

Krissy had many personal battles in her lifetime that led to health issues.  She continued to fight and overcome as many as she could.  Through it all she remained a loving and caring person who enjoyed many of the things a comfortable home life offered.  At home, she loved all kinds of flowers and gardening.  She would plant and decorate with beautiful flower pots and the occasional attempt at vegetables and fruits.  She would fill several bird feeders and patiently watch from her kitchen window for a visit from a cardinal.  She always made room for animals, often to the point of creating her very own zoo.  Over the years, she spoiled all sorts of dogs and other pets, especially her New York Terrier, Leia, whom she may have been accused of spoiling more than her   child.  When she did leave home, her favorite place to go was to find seafood at a nice restaurant.  She always had a sweet tooth and welcomed delivered treats, especially cookies from Grandma Betty.

Her greatest joy and treasure was her son, Cooper Hoops.  They loved and cared for each    other.  She is also survived by a brother, Scott (Sharon) Smith, Deshler; sisters, Sharon (Howard) Arens, Deshler; Kim (Rob) Bonner, Deshler, Cooper’s father, Tyke (Tracy) Hoops and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Smith and sister, Ann Smith Labie.

Cooper would like to especially thank all the family and friends who visited and cared for his mother and all those that kept her in their thoughts and prayers.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor Chris Walter officiating.  Graveside services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
