Obituary

Marvin M. Mahlman
September 29, 1944 - May 26, 2023

Marvin Martin "Butch" Mahlman, 78 of Deshler, Ohio passed away on Friday night, May 26, 2023 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was born on September 29, 1944 in Hamler, Ohio to the late Frederick and Edna (Seemann) Mahlman, the youngest of 7 children.
Marv was a 1963 graduate of Deshler High School.  Throughout high school he worked for the late Paul "Shakey" Wensink and shortly after graduation he married his high school sweetheart and classmate, Edna (Cunningham) Mahlman on February 22, 1964.  They shared over 59 years of true love and friendship.
He worked at the former Metal Forge plant in Deshler and then took a job at Ball Metal in Findlay.  He worked there for over 32 years and retired in 2006 as a tool room supervisor.
Marv was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler and social member at Deshler American Legion Post #316.  He enjoyed camping for over 50 years at Lucy's 22 on the Maumee River.  Here he enjoyed playing cards with his late friend, Cully Spurgeon or being social and having a cold beverage with his many friends.  The Green Bay Packers, playing Keno, watching NASCAR, snowmobile trips and bowling were many of the things that brought him happiness.  Most of all he loved his family and truly wanted the best for them all.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; children, Troy (Sandra) Mahlman; Marla Hawkins (David Shank); grandchildren, Austin Mahlman; MacKenzie (Casey) Edgeman; Hudson (Saraya) Hawkins; step grandson, Nicholas Seedorf; great grandchildren, Grey; Eleanor; Ledger; step great grandchildren, Angelina; Colby; Madison; Krystian; brothers, Donald Mahlman; Louis (Rita) Mahlman; sisters, Delores Rickerd; Mary Lou Curtis and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Betty Seedorf Schwiebert and brother, Kenneth Mahlman.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor Chris Walter officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
