Rebecca "Becky" Breece-Straley Obituary

Rebecca Breece Straley
March 16, 1949 – January 22, 2021

Rebecca “Becky” Breece Straley, 71, of Deshler, Ohio passed away earlier this year on January 22, 2021.
A memorial mass for Becky will be celebrated on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Art Niewadomski officiating.  Becky will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler next to her husband, parents and sister.
Becky was born March 16, 1949 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Ralph and Helena (Gilgenbaugh) Breece. On February 29, 1980 she married Grant “Jerry” Straley, and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2009.
Becky was followed in death by her sister, Ramona Gordon on January 29, 2021 and preceded in death by her brothers, Louis Breece and Bernard “Ben” (Midge) Breece.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Walter Gordon; sister-in law, DeeDee Breece, nieces and nephews; Laura (Kent) Jackson; John (Sue) Gordon; Joyce (Scott) McBride; Lynne (John) Calvelage; Bernie (Julie) Breece; Beth (Ott) Recker; Leesa (Mark) Yungmann.
Becky was a 1967 Deshler High School graduate.  She cherished her time in the Deshler Marching Band, following in the footsteps of her three older siblings, and long after graduating she continued to play the trombone in the Deshler Community Band.  She was the owner and operator of the former Le Fleur Boutique Flower Shop, Deshler, Ohio.  For many years she was sought after for her creative genius as a florist.  People reached out to her for all their floral needs, in particular her wedding and funeral pieces.  She was well known in the area and even after she closed the shop, people were still asking for her work.
When Becky decided to move away from flowers, her unique style didn’t stop there. Along with her husband, they were owners of All-American Limousine; the Warehouse Antique Mall, Grand Rapids, Ohio and Straley’s General Store/Bridal Shop, Holgate, Ohio.  She even obtained her realtor’s license and worked as an agent with John Newlove Real Estate, and later she became an auctioneer.
The family suggests memorials to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler, Ohio.
