   Richard E. Baden, 80, of Deshler, Ohio passed away early Sunday morning, February 2, 2020 at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore, Ohio.
   He was born July 10, 1939 in Elery, Henry County, Ohio to the late Ernest and Mary Catherine (Groll) Baden.
   On September 26, 1981 he married Jeanne Scharf in Creston, Ohio and she survives.
   He is also survived by 5 children, Steven (Gertrude) Hawkins; Rhonda Kelly; Yvonne Baden; Chuck (Jessica) Hawkins; Greg (Jen) Baden; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Eileen (Bob) Cross; sister-in-law, Bonnie Baden; brother-in-law, Steve (Linda) Scharf and sister-in-law, Stella Scharf.
   He was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Fritz and Kieth Baden.
   Richard was a graduate of Malinta-Grelton High School and had a career as a senior claims representative for Hastings Insurance and Motorists Insurance.
   Richard was always looking to meet new people.  If you were lucky to know him, you would remember his kindness.  He enjoyed Johnny Cash and country western music.  He was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers and remained faithful to his team even in times of disappointment.
   Per Richard's wishes there will be no public services.  The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Briar Hill Health Campus for the excellent care given to Richard.
