Ruben J. Amador, Sr.

July 3rd, 1932 – February 3rd, 2025

Ruben J. Amador, 92, of Deshler, Ohio passed away Monday evening, February 3rd, 2025, at The Meadows of Leipsic.

He was born July 3rd, 1932, in Waelder, Texas to the late Nicolas “Nick” and Margarita (Jimenez) Amador.  On March 27th, 1955, he married Dolores (Garcia) Amador in Immokalee, Florida.   They shared over 68 years of marriage, and she was his biggest supporter, hard worker & right arm, neither could function without each other until she preceded him in death on October 24th, 2023.

Ruben was a strong man, determined, & hard worker in life. His pride was remodeling their first home for his family upon settling in Deshler. He was a car enthusiast, was a tinkering handy man and enjoyed riding his bicycle for errands.  His past employment consisted of Libby’s-McNeal of Leipsic, IMCO Poultry of Deshler and Tem-Cole Radish, McClure.  Dolores’ former employers were Tem-Cole Radish and Metal Forge.

He is survived by three children, Yolanda (Juan) Villasana, Leipsic, Ohio; Lionel (Brenda) Amador, Edinburg, Texas; and Margarita “Maggie” Amador, Findlay, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Daniela Stover; Justin Stover; Maria Elena Amador; 3 great grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; sisters, Nena Hinojosa; Elma Amador; brothers, Ramiro Amador; Ramon Amador; Nicolas “Nick” Amador, Jr. and Rene Amador.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Ruben Amador, Jr.; sisters, Teresa Rodriguez; Fela Costoro; brothers, Robert Amador and Reynaldo Amador.  

Ruben’s wishes were for no public services, and he will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler, Ohio.
