  Shirley Ann Meyer, 87, of Deshler, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 21, 2025 with her children by her side at The Meadows of Leipsic.
  She was born July 11, 1938 in Hamler, Ohio to the late Herman and Johanna (Von Seggern) Guelde.  Shirley was a 1956 graduate of Hamler High School and was raised in a home of five brothers and an older sister.
  On November 22, 1956 she married Kenneth Meyer at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Hamler.  They shared over 60 years together, raised five children, enjoyed grandchildren, great grandchildren and all the blessings of family life.  From 1981-2003, Shirley and Ken lived in Laramie, Wyoming.
  Her greatest achievement in life was that of being a supportive wife, caring mother and remaining devoted to her family and home.  Shirley went beyond nurturing her family at home to working beside Ken at Barhite’s grocery in Hamler, and in Laramie she was Executive Assistant to the CEO at WyoTech and is remembered as “always having a smile.” She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Laramie, and Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Deshler.
  She is survived by her five children, Beth (Don) Laipple; Bradley (Kathy) Meyer; Curt (Lauren) Meyer; Jeff (Tina) Meyer; Elizabeth “Betsy” Coffield; nine grandchildren; Emily (Stefan) Routt; Molly (Sean) Miller; Brian (Krystal) Laipple; Leah (Matthew) Moreland; Hali (Chris) Diaz; Zachary (Erin) Meyer; Sarah Meyer; Cody (Brittany) Meyer; Lindsey Meyer; sixteen great grandchildren, Oliver, Linley, Davis, Ryan, Brooke, Cameron, Nolan, Sawyer, Isaac, Davie Jane, Elowyn, Eleanor, Everett, Elijah, Ezekiel, Dakota; brothers, Herman (Jean) Guelde; Eugene (Glenda) Guelde; Jim (Donna) Guelde and sister, Gerry Imbrock.
  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Guelde and Terry Guelde. 
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Deshler with Rev. Kurtis Freimuth officiating.  A funeral luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.  Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.  Shirley will be buried next to her husband, Ken in a private ceremony at the church cemetery.
  In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials to Peace Lutheran Church and Hamler Library.
