Steven Earl Lieb, 71, of Hamler, Ohio passed away early Monday morning, November 30, 2020 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance, Ohio.
   Steve was born on October 24, 1949 in McComb, Ohio to Earl Lieb and Esther (Searfoss) Lieb.  He graduated from Hamler High School in 1967.  Steve began working at the former Weatherseal in Ottawa, Ohio and then served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. 
   After being honorably discharged, he married the love of his life, Kathleen (Wiechers) Lieb on June 5, 1971 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, Ohio.
   Steve would work several years farming with his father and then in 1980 he began working at the Campbell Soup Company, Napoleon.  Here he worked for over 27 years, retiring in 2007.  After retirement, he spent his time driving truck for the Elery Branch of the Ridgeville Elevator and for Tietje Bros. Farms. 
   He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler where he served in numerous capacities over the years.  He was a member and held various offices in the Warren L. McIntyre American Legion Post #262, Hamler; member of PH Athletic Boosters and 300 Club and an honorary member of the Hamler Men’s Club. 
   Steve will be remembered for his avid loyalty and support of Patrick Henry School Sports; his enjoyment in a good round of golf and his daily visits to the Hamler Diner for coffee, whether he was drinking it or serving it. 
   His family will forever be grateful for his examples as a faithful and dedicated husband, his support as a loving father, his adoring nature as a grandfather and an honoring son to his parents.  His amazing smile and laugh will be missed by all.
   He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathy, Hamler, Ohio; his father, Earl Lieb, Leipsic, Ohio; three children, Jason (Amy) Lieb, Defiance; Amber (Steve) Trausch, Napoleon, Ohio; Andrew (Liz) Lieb, Clearwater, Florida; nine grandchildren, Emma, Carmen, Joshua and Dallin Lieb; Levi, Mason and Chase Trausch; Carter and Wesley Lieb; and sister, Linda (Jerry) Bishop, Hamler.
   He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther.
   Services will be private for the family and held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler with Rev. James Fundum officiating.  They will be livestreamed at Immanuel Lutheran Hamler Facebook Page on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  Military honors will be accorded by Warren L. McIntyre American Legion Post #262.
   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in order to distribute to Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Celiac Disease Foundation.
