William "Bill" Williams
July 13, 1933 - April 3, 2023
William Russell “Bill” Williams, 89, of Findlay, Ohio passed away Monday morning, April 3, 2023 at his residence.
He was born on July 13, 1933 in Willard, Ohio to the late Cyrus and Bernice (Goon) Williams.
Bill graduated from Deshler High School in 1951 and proudly served his country from 1952-1955. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, Bill returned home and on May 25, 1957 he married Troas (Rickerd) Williams and they have shared over 65 years of marriage.
He worked at Ball Metal in Findlay and retired in 1991. He was a member of the Deshler American Legion Post #316 and the United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed many activities outside, particularly hunting, fishing and golfing. His family was always important and as the grandchildren came, he never wanted to miss a sporting event or activity they were participating in.
He is survived by his wife, Troas; son, Michael (Lisa) Williams; daughter, Laura Williams (Doug Harmon); grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kevin) Hopple; Cyrus (Kasey) Otto; Macaulay Williams; great grandchildren, Caidon; Emmitt; Kenzi; step great grandchildren, Delaney; Aiden; Hannah and Emme.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman; Kenneth; Vernon; Beverly; Robert and Richard.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler with Pastor Chris Walter officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Marine Corps and Deshler American Legion Post #316.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday at the Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler
